Happy Friday! New view of West Seattle from the sky

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Gatewood pilot Long Nguyen, who shared some spectacular aerial views last year. This new one, he says, was taken from 10,000 feet over Sea-Tac, on a descent to Boeing Field. (Click the image to see a larger version on his gallery site.)

We need to plant more trees.

TVB – agreed. We did our part here at WSB HQ … the greenery’s so thick on three sides that some of those online aerials barely show our roof. Do that times 10,000 (although natives would probably be better than most of what we wound up with) and imagine how much more of a canopy we’d have. Then there’s also the Nature Consortium http://www.naturec.org doing their incredible work restoring the evergreens in the West Duwamish Greenbelt … A start! – TR

    TVB,
That’s how I can find my house in these shots, we live in one of the greenest none park areas of west seattle.

I live in a rental where the landlord laid gravel and asphalt across the entire backyard. Today he asked if I wanted the gravel area asphalted too. I tried to impress upon him the need for more green, not gray.

Also, WSB–thank you for the reminder regarding the great work Nature Conservancy is doing. I need to follow their program more closely.

Words are unable to describe the talent of Long Nguyen.
    .
I just spent a half hour looking through his wide variety of subject matter featured on his web site and only viewed a fraction of his content.
    .
With usually nothing more than just a location, or a one or two word description his pictures are able to tell a story all on their own.
    .
Take some time and have a look at some of his galleries. A visual feast for the viewing.
