Well, at least I heard the coyotes sing in Schmitz Park because of this.

I’m glad you heard the coyotes… I heard and saw the sirens from the fire trucks and no longer have a kitchen and can’t sleep in my home tonight due to the smoke damage. Normally I love the WSB but this comment hurts.

KH, I am sorry to hear that you were displaced. The Fire Department did not indicate at the scene that the residents would not be able to return to the house. I lost my entire house to fire in childhood and know how devastating it can be, so I apologize that we did not have that additional information – TR

thank you for the kind words TR.

I’m sorry, KH, that your night has been so rough. I hope you can sleep well and get back into your home soon.

KH – I pretty much lost everything I owned in a house fire years ago. It was my parents home in Clyde Hill and was the same night that the Officers Club at Sand Point burned down. Long story kinda short…Clyde Hill Fire Dept. was across Lake WA at SP since there hadn’t been a fire in CH for years and needed practice? I could have ran to the fire station barefoot in under 5 minutes…they showed up 45 minutes later…I would still like to find the details as to the CHFD’s biggest screw up ever. The Joirnal American the next day quoted them something like this “even though the CHFD was assisting in Sand Point it did not delay their response time”…yeah right! They were across Lake WA! So glad my folks paid extra taxes to have a FD within walking distance.

Sorry again KH… Hope everything works out for you and all of those effected.

Sorry, comment time is over.
