There’s only solution to all this excessive heat: Excessive amounts of ice cold beer coupled with excessive time spent in the blow-up pool.

Better check the latest forecast – not a relaxing 99, KOMO’s saying 101, and saying that’s conservative!

Does anyone know where the coolest place in Washington will be tomorrow? Is it Ocean Shores?

Someone should remind those crazy folks working out at the new CF… Just came from bartells where they are having their members run as hard as possible outside on the sidewalk passing the business entrance. I predict someone will be sent to the Er tonight- either with heat stroke or from being hit by a car.

I’m supposed to take the bus out to the UW on Thursday, and I’m debating whether to cancel. Did anyone ride the 43 Montlake bus today? Was it bearable? I’m thinking it’s one of the older ones without air conditioning.

Out of curiosity what is the current water temp at Lake Washington beaches? A former WS and W. Washington native of 40yrs and now living in AZ since March would like to know…I remember a summer in my early teens back in the late 70’s when fish were dying off and it made swimming not so pleasant…

  • bluebird July 28, 2009 (6:08 pm)

The weather report I read, specifically stated the temps would not be any cooler by the coast during this period.

Above Alki it’s 95 on the deck, 82 inside and climbing (new windows and R54 in the attic), and 72 in the basement. Cold turkey sandwich and salad for dinner. Fans are the new snow shovels I guess. Ice in the glass, not on the sidewalk…

    Life in Seattle!! Thanks JayDee

Iggy – if what ever you are up to can wait . . . DO NOT take the bus to UW. That run hardly ever has a newer bus. Its better to try to stay cool in this crazy heat wave and save the adventure for a cooler day! Good Luck!

I was watching KCPQ weather, and there was something about Renton being 105 tomorrow. It looks like hotter temps going south.

  • miws July 28, 2009 (9:52 pm)

So, Renton may be ahead of the temperature curve? ;)

If it’s 79 degrees at 3:45AM, I hate to see how hot it’s really going to get! Who else can’t sleep????

Iggy — If you’re coming from here and going to UW, don’t take any of the 40 series busses (43, 49) If you go through downtown like I have to, go down into the tunnel and take one of the 70 series busses. Quicker ride, and usually newer busses. And they’re mostly express, so even the few that don’t have ac, they keep moving with the windows open. :) Good luck!

Sorry, comment time is over.
