Good news, the lighting at the I-5/West Seattle Bridge (Spokane Street) interchange is getting improvements. Semi-bad news in the short run, that means some ramp closures. They may not all affect you since some are from Columbian Way (the Beacon Hill end), but here’s the full list just in case:

I-5 Spokane Street Illumination #7471
Crews will remove and replace the illumination system and signing at the I-5/Spokane Street interchange which will improve safety and visibility for drivers.
* Sunday, March 22 – Crews will close the on-ramp to northbound I-5 from eastbound Columbian Way from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for electrical work.
* Sunday, March 22 – Crews will close the left lane of eastbound Columbian Way at I-5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for electrical work.
* Sunday, March 22- Crews will close the on-ramp to eastbound Columbian Way from Sixth Avenue S. from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to protect drivers from overhead work.
* Monday, March 23 – Crews will close the ramp from westbound Columbian Way to the West Seattle Bridge from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for electrical work.
* Monday, March 23; Wednesday, March 25 – morning of Friday, March 27 – Crews will close the right lane of westbound Columbian Way at I-5 nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for electrical work.
* Tuesday, March 24 – Crews will close the left lane of Columbian Way at I-5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for electrical work.
* Tuesday, March 24 – morning of Friday, March 27 – Crews will close the on-ramp to southbound I-5 from westbound Columbian Way nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for electrical work.
* Tuesday, March 24; Thursday, March 26 – Crews will close the three left lanes of northbound I-5 at Spokane Street from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sign installation work.
