West Seattle-residing county assessor under investigation for crash

Thanks to Jules for e-mailing to say citywide media have been staking out the Beach Drive home of King County Assessor Scott Noble since word came out that he is under investigation for possible charges in connection with a head-on freeway crash last month (P-I report here; Times report here, which includes a statement from Noble’s lawyer saying he has been “recovering from injuries” since “an automobile accident in mid-January”). Noble is in his fifth term as county assessor; here’s his biography on the county website.

Very sad all around. But a bit of unintentional humor, courtesy of Noble’s bio:

Noble was first elected King County assessor in 1992. He was elected to his fifth term in November 2007 when he defeated Jim Nobles, 45, a supervisor at the Dutch Shisler Sobering Center, the county’s detox unit.

    No sympathy for him.

Driving under the influence is a choice, and he made a very poor one and injured innocent people.

    Shame on him.

And for those who say he’s innocent until proven guilty. If he was stone cold sober, then double shame on him for being an utterly crap driver that would pull a U-turn on I-5 and drive down the interstate the wrong direction.

Fromm the way both stories are written the clues all point to DUI.

The cops have a blood sample which should prove it one way or another.

Scott has done a good job as assessor and probably will continue to do so until the next election.

At that point participation in the primary will be important in determining if he will continue.

He lives in West Seattle? I never saw him at the Young W, oh nevermind…. I guess he should have assessed the situation a little better. And if he lives in West Seattle, what is he doing drunk down by Federal Way? Maybe he was coming from downtown on I-5 and missed the West Seattle Bridge and finally realized around Highway 18.
