Update: Crash blocks southbound 35th at Holden

We’re checking this out on our way back from the Alki fire (still updating that coverage with more info and pix): Car hit parked car on southbound 35th near Holden, one person to hospital, two southbound lanes blocked. 10:59 PM UPDATE: Video of the scene – towing was imminent, but some cleanup also was needed for transmission fluid from one or both vehicles:

First, I hope the injured are doing well. Second, I’m the owner of the little red car that some of you may recall being obliterated in this same manner (legally parked on the northbound side) about a block from this scene two years ago. We don’t park on 35th ave anymore after multiple shattered rearview mirrors and one totaled vehicle, but I do wonder what’s up with this little section of 35th near John’s Deli. I haven’t kept close tabs, but I’d guess that there’s a fairly serious accident in this two block area about once every two to three months.

I don’t think it’s speed, since folks speed the whole length of 35th, and it’s not always one of the intersections (there’s a light at 35th and Webster.)

Anyone have any thoughts about this?

Sorry, comment time is over.
