West Seattle Gas Price Watch: It’s a (pre-)Christmas miracle

arcodecember18th.jpgWe haven’t updated the West Seattle Gas Price Watch for a while (past editions archived here) — prices would go up a bit, then go down a bit, and we figured wasting pixels on the seesawing might bore you. However, we were out doing other things a short time ago when what should appear through the downpour, between the furiously fast sweeps of our windshield wipers, but — a milestone worth mentioning: The first $2-something price in a while (photo at left). Yes, it’s “only” the Arco on Delridge, but still.

I never thought I would ever think that $2.99 seems cheap for gas. I guess I’m getting used to these prices, though I’d love to see those numbers dip below $2.00 again at some point in my life. Wishful thinking I know, since I’m probably more likely to win Mega Millions instead.

This morning the Roxbury Safeway also had 2.99 (so that’s real gas, not Arco), so it was slightly less with the various, insidious Safeway Club card discounts.

I wish I had seen this before I spent 3:03 at the Admiral Safeway

They want us to go out and SHOP!

Big Oil does the country a ‘favor’ and eats a bit of profit, hoping we will take the bait and go out and SPEND.

Back up by the new year for sure.

Sorry, comment time is over.
