Storm watch, second update: Now it’s a High Wind Warning

Thanks to Lou for pointing out the upgrade in the Weather Service alert: Our area is now under a High Wind Warning till 4 pm today. For anyone interested in the hyper-geeky detailed meteorological information, here’s the link for the Weather Service’s latest Forecast Discussion, usually updated four times daily (mid-morning, mid-afternoon, mid-evening, early morning).

Is anyone watching for “Danger Jim” Foreman down on Alki ? Thats how you know something is going to happen…

He usually works for the 11 o’clock news so he might not show up till later. Just saw another station’s reporter getting blown around along Beach Drive south of Alki Point (which as usual was inaccurately identified as Alki Beach).

Is there a link to any power outages in West Seattle???

  • Adam on Alki November 12, 2007 (12:23 pm)

I have no idea how I still have power. This is the first REALLY big winds that I am been through in this duplex and the only unit has shook many times.

Meg – no WS outages listed right now on the city site – the link to check outages is in our first post of the morning. We’ll add it to our next update too.

I hope the storm last’s for the football game. We had a couple big storms last year during football games.Fun to be home and watching.

    Mr JT,

I have a bit of a view from the Sound from my place on California Av, and during the peak of the storm, saw what I thought was a big blue balloon, with a red spot on it, and a large white balloon.

Grabbed the binocs, turns out it was Jim in his billowing parka, and Sister Bertrille!
