For a photo, see the Craigslist ad (http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/pet/3870925460.html). The cat is mostly white/tan with some black accents and is very affectionate and playful (seems scared of other cats, but very friendly with people). If he doesn’t belong to anyone, then he is free to a good home as I cannot keep the cat unfortunately.

Sarah, Please take the cat to Lien Animal Clinic (932-1133) and have it scanned for a microchip. If it doesn’t have one Lien should be able to hold it and call Animal Control. People who have lost a pet will be looking at Animal Control. If no one claims it, Animal Control will find it a home. Craigslist IS NOT a safe place to find homes. Plus you can’t just give a recently found animal away. Thank you for helping this cat.

Nooooo! Never Craigslist or ‘free to a good home.’ There are too many horror stories to list here, people lie and have other intentions for the animals. Some add to their hoarding of their pets. Please, all that read this ALWAYS turn over to reputable Vet or no kill shelter. Unless you can do an intensive interview and follow-up, do NOT give an animal away for free, too dangerous for the animal. Even people with good intentions want only a free animal because they also do not want the commitment of paying for healthy pet food or even a once a year Vet visit. The animals deserve better. Try harder for them.

PS; was the person that claimed the cat the real owner? Did they prove it? Vet history? Photos? I hope the reunited party was not off of Craigslist. (Craigslist should drop all the animal catagories, too dangerous, so many other safer options.)
