Who needs the overpass, when there’s the Admiral marquee?
April 30, 2008 at 7:47 pm | In Admiral Theater, Seen around town | 16 CommentsGot this photo from Admiral Theater employee Brandon, who says Sam asked for the prom-proposal space and they said, sure. We just drove by and it’s still up, but Brandon tells WSB it’s coming down around 9 pm. No word yet whether the would-be prom date has seen it and/or accepted! 9:39 PM UPDATE: Brandon just sent word that Stephanie said yes – and that he got a video interview with the happy couple a little while ago; he promises to send us the link when it’s uploaded.

i was down on alki a couple years ago and ran into two girls who had drawn in the sand “prom?” and surrounded it with little votive candles. they were waiting for their boyfriends to meet them. i couldn’t hang around to see what happened, but i hope they got the answer they wanted too!
have fun, sam and stephanie!

Nice job, Sam! Romanticism is alive and kicking! So much better than texting and asking her…

Nice Sam!!!
And Grats on getting her to say YES!!
Now a question kinda off topic:
Does the Admiral still show “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on the first Saturday of the month at midnight?
I have a bunch of teens that are ‘virgins’
I’ve seen it over 120 times and would like to see the changes in the audience since I last saw it 10-15 years ago.

Way to go Sam and Admiral Theatre!
Comment by Keith — May 1, 08 11:29 am #
Rocky Horror Picture Show is always on the first Saturday of every month @ midnight. Come early as it tends to fill up quickly.
The video interview is almost done. If it is not posted before 1:30 today, we’ll have it up after 6 tonight for sure.
Thanks everyone for your awesome comments on this story, btw.

The Admiral has always been a romantic place. Thats where my husband and I got married in 2002. The staircase makes a wonderful “altar” area!
