    Can anyone recommend a good, public, west-facing spot on Vashon Island to watch a sunset? …if there is such a place and if we ever see the sun again ;) The only place I ever tried was Lisabuela Park but that doesn’t have a wide enough view.

    Hi Frank,

    I’m not familiar with Vashon view points, but if you are on the WS “peninsula” there are a number of spots to get a good sunset shot. Lincoln Park, Lowman Beach, Marine View Drive, just to name a few.

    I know the West Seattle spots too. Vashon I don’t know so well though and I’m taking a friend there who would like to see a sunset. I don’t think there is any good public spot for this there but I’m hoping I’m wrong.

    Sylvan Beach Walk

    Fern Cove

    Bates Walk

    You’ll need to Google for specific directions :)

    And those are all public. Some close the gates at night, but with as early as the sun sets this time of year, I think you’d be fine.
