swimcatMemberSDOT has made my day- first they made the left turn light longer from westbound fauntleroy onto southbound 35th. Now they have posted signs that do not allow left turns from southbound 35th onto eastbound Avalon. This intersection used to get so jacked up, especially if there was a bus heading south on 35th. Now there are no more problems (unless drivers ignore the sign)! Thanks SDOT.

flowerpetalMemberWow, that is a huge change! Especially without warning. Imagine all of the drivers coming home who live in that cavernous Avalon Way east of 35th. If they do abide the law, they will have to drive past their street and double back.
Eventually it will cause the Avalon Way exit off of the bridge to back up near Luna Park.
I’m wondering M if the left turns are forbidden at any time or just during high traffic times.

MargLMemberThe last time I was thru that intersection I saw the no-left turn signs but they were marked 3pm to 7pm (i think) did they change the signs and make it no left turn all the time?

BonnieParticipantI think that’s good because all the drivers getting off the freeway can get off at the Harbor Ave exit. Of course, it kind of sucks for those coming from the north side of 35th and they actually do want to go down Avalon.

PDieterParticipantwell at least now I know who the folks honking at those of us making that turn during the allowed hours are. Maybe if folks slowed down on I35 they could read that it’s only 3-7 that the turns aren’t allowed.

WSBKeymasterI checked it out after seeing the post here. It’s only limited 3-7 pm M-F.
