    As books are to leaves

       And leaves are to trees

    Connected with branches

        You’ll find one of these.

    I’m going to guess that’s at a library somewhere…

I think I know but I am disqualifying myself since I ruined the last one too soon :) Good one, DP!

Definitely a library. Not sure which one. SW has that sculpture set in the front but I can’t remember what exactly is there.

It’s the baby jesus replacement hand.

I’m thinking it’s one of the 5 bronze hands in front of the Southwest Library. The background would -have- to be photoshopped or it’d give it away immediately – because there’s the distinctive color of the building and the words embedded in the sidewalk in front of each hand.

Pictures of the hands being cast?

MargL: I’m giving this one to you, because you were the most explicit. (ellenater was almost there, but she was a bit speculative.)

Yes, it was “photoshopped.” I felt I had to do that or it would have been just a little too easy.

Here are some other views of the same piece:

Here’s another one of the sculptures, which together comprise a set of, I think, five:

Here’s an example of the engraved words you mentioned, MargL:

I thought about using one of those, but I didn’t have enough time to do it right, with a tripod and all.

I love that the hands were cast from active library patrons and not just ‘professional hand models’

We have since lost two of the models, Mary Ellen and Dennis.

And I know who’s hand holds the book!

    Do tell, Julie . . .

Do you also happen to know what the book is?
