lindaParticipantWhat an incredibly clever way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of PacMan! A fully functional reproduction of PacMan (patterns, bugs and all) on 256 levels. More fun than anyone should be allowed to have at work. If you have not already tried it out, it will be up on their home page for 48 hours from its original posting time (the day and time PacMan was first released in Japan, 8 a.m. May 22nd.) I haven’t checked to see what time that is locally as I’ve been too busy playing and reliving my younger years.

squareeyesParticipantI never did enjoy PacMan and today I was reminded why — I’m just not good at it. When can we celebrate Galaga?

miwsParticipantI was pleasantly surprised to find that this morning!
I never got hugely into video games, but do remember playing a fair amount of Pac-Man at a few West Seattle bars and taverns back in its early years.
As hard as it is to believe that Pac-Man is 30, it reminded me that another video game will be hitting 30 in just a couple of years; TRON.
I don’t recall if I ever played it (other than maybe once or twice), but do recall a friend at the time being excited about it, because it was the first live action (if that’s the proper way to describe it), video game.

lindaParticipantI was never very good at it either, possibly becuase I only played it at Bison Creek Pizza in West Seattle and beer was usually involved (along with garlic cheese bread and their most excellent #19 pizza). I’m actually better at it today with the keyboard than I ever was with the arcade game. Possibly becuase no beer is involved today? Besides, better is a relative term, I still haven’t made it past level one.
