HomerParticipantJust got a cold call from Arboretum Mortgage and after I told them I was on the Do Not Call list, they said they didn’t care. I asked how they got my number and said they looked it up based on my mortgage and they don’t check the Do No Call list as they’d rather get fined than deal with that process. That was word for word what the supervisor said when I asked for them! They said they’ve never been fined before and they won’t be and that he makes so much more money than me, just bought a million dollar house, and a Mazzerati blah blah blah…
I’m calling their president as they are local, tomorrow, to complain again and I filed with the FCC but not sure what good it will do. He was just so combative and rude and had no respect for the laws and just scoffed at them.
Sounds like a terrible way to run a business!
Anyone else received cold calls from them despite being on the Do Not Call list?

miwsParticipantMight be worth calling the Attorney General’s office as well.
Bad enough they ignore the Do Not Call list, but their “I don’t care” attitude is even more maddening.
I say sic all of the appropriate agencies on them that you have the time and patience to contact.

HomerParticipantME TOO!! But checked the AOG’s website and “Top Complaints Not Handled By the AOG” and one is “SPAM: Visit the Federal Trade Commission’s Web site or e-mail them at spam@uce.gov”
Ughhh, it’s a local company here!!! I agree, that don’t care attitude is what kills me…do hate that after our heated argument, the guy has my phone number and home address! Why the heck are mortgages PUBLIC INFORMATION.
Might even file a police report as it verged on harassment!

HomerParticipanthuh! Updated: Attorney General’s office said this is a clear violation by that company and please DO submit an official complaint! Will be doing that shortly! Wonder what else can be done?

metrognomeParticipantfile a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Not sure what kind of licensing is required for that business, but there are professional standards. Their own website provides a link:

HomerParticipantJust talked to the owner but wouldn’t say what he was going to do to this slimy guy. Filed with attorney general to make sure they are on alert and for a record in case something happens after this. Terrible review for this place and hope something happens to this guy….blechhh
