Hello! My husband and I are expecting our first child and have just started the process of meeting midwives. We met Dr. Shari Luchino and really liked her, but I’m having trouble finding any information about her online (reviews, personal stories). Has anyone worked with her? Any other local recommendations? We really like that Dr. Luchino has a medical background (paranoid first timers!). We’re also interested in hospital midwife birth but it seems like that’s only offered at Swedish Ballard and On the east side…does anyone know if there are closer hospital options? Thank you in advance!

Swedish First Hill has one midwife now. Group Health on Capitol Hill also has midwives and they’re supposed to be excellent.

I’m VBACing, so I’m using the midwives at Valley Medical Center in Renton (close to Ikea).

There are a lot of midwives who work in hospitals as long as you’re not VBACing!

Rainy City Midwifery is excellent. Beth Coyote was my midwife with both of my pregnancies. I adore her. She knows her stuff
