I’ve only lived near the Alaska Junction for a little over a year now, but I’ve noticed a major increase in sirens lately. I know living down the street from a firehouse invites a certain level of noise pollution, but lately, it’s sounded like the whole of West Seattle is crumbling. I can’t even sleep some nights because of the sirens blaring every other hour, and the loud-engine-assholes gunning it down the street in between. Has anyone else noticed an increase in fire/police activity over the past couple of months? Is there any reason for the increased emergency activity? I know I can’t blame them for just doing their jobs and trying to save lives, but sometimes it gets to the point that I just want to scream for them to turn off the damn sirens.
