HopQueenParticipantWe are looking to make a dent in our home improvement list. If you have experience with someone who was reliable and reasonably priced (fair price for quality work) I would love to hear about them. Thank you! Here are the types of jobs we are looking to do:
– Fence (wooden and maybe wire grid)
– Exterior paint
– General handy person work
– Light remodel (including plans if necessary)
– Electrical
– Landscaping project (including hardscape)

Southpaw77MemberFence: We’ve used both Alpine Fence and West Seattle Fence. I would recommend West Seattle Fence. They did an awesome job at a fair price. He also used clear cedar instead of tight not at a price that was comparable to other quotes.
Electrical: We have used Mr. Sarky o.k service and descent price. We also just used Exact Electric. Exact did a great job, very professional. The only problem I had was that the price was significantly higher that the quote. I sent them an email and they called within 15 minutes and adjusted the price significantly. Not down to the original quote but a descent amount. Make sure you get a written quote.
Landscape: A landscape project with hardscape is a challenging area. Not alot of landscape companies also do hardscape. We did a large stamped concrete patio built in grill and refrigerator and plantings. For that project we went with Sublime Garden Design. They do design and project management. They pull all of the aspects of such a project together. Also, the design they came up with was nothing I would have ever thought of. The plantings they used were also unique and not cookie cutter..if that makes sense. I was very happy with their design and service. Also we are currently working with David at Garden Shed Design who is building us an arbor. I’ll let you know how that goes. Hope that helps.

For a general handy person Shawn Anderson is your guy.
He might also be able to take care of the fence and landscape projects, he’s great at any woodwork including decks, harwood floors, fences, flower beds, etc.
