jschuMemberAnyone hear anymore details about a floating dead body in water south of Salty’s? Person I met lives down there but have not heard? I think it was earlier this week.

jschuMemberthanks for finding- sounds sketchy. Hopefully we find out how or why he died. I bet Salty’s is concerned.

GenHillOneParticipantDid you actually read the link Erik provided?

JanSParticipantjschu, maybe I’m just dense, but why would Salty’s be concerned? Could you elaborate on what you meant by that?

jschuMemberIf bodies wash ashore near a restuarant it is a health hazard. How long was it there? Could be more. Just saying. The police cleaned it up, so should be fine. Just sad.

MrJTMemberjschu – how would a body on the shore be a health hazard?

JanSParticipantwell, thankfully, they didn’t drag the guy’s body through the restaurant, and Elliott Bay isn’t a water source for Salty’s. Could be more? More what? Are you saying there may be some kind of cover up on the part of the SPD? Or am I misunderstanding you. It was a suicide, he died from drowning, he was from West Seattle…and the ME could probably tell you how long he had been there. They know how to figure out time of death, etc…
I do agree, it’s very sad. Sad that something in this guy’s life seemed so bad that he thought this was his only alternative.

jschuMemberThe suicide is the sad part. I guess I was following the wrong thought. Never mind. Peace to his family.

WSBKeymasterThe Medical Examiner listed the date of death as January 21st on the media-release recording the day after the body was found; the published notice here says Jan. 13. What’s written in the link, otherwise, is pretty much all there is to say. We had followed the story since it started as a medic response/7 per rule that day, saw that the call canceled but that police were still on the scene, chased down more info with police and fire, later with the M.E.

CaduceusMemberHe was a really nice guy, and had been threatening suicide for awhile.
He just finally got drunk enough.
He will be missed and I hope he is in a better place.
