On Friday evening I and 2 friends had dinner at this restaurant. There were 2 servers present. They had only 3 tables to attend to. Service was slow at best. My friends were served their dinners way before mine arrived. I encouraged them not to let their food get cold, but they waited until mine was served. It was some time before that happened. I had a gift certificate that was purchased there before the new owners came on board. They absolutely refused to honor it because the restaurant was now owned by someone else. After researching this they absolutely did have to honor it. So, I left a very unhappy customer! I will never go back! My husband would like to take them to small claims court. He may just do it on principle.

I’ve also heard it, alarm goes off for about 5 minutes every single night for the past week. Not sure what’s going on, but it’s beginning to get annoying.

The people that own this white car keep setting their alarm off between the hours of 6-9 PM, as to not do it during quiet hours. I assume they are doing it to Harass and Bully other neighbors that they are adjacent to, the car is parked in front of the other neighbors’ home. At this point its disrupting other neighbors, (including myself), I think it’s been about 5 nights in a row. I left a note on the car, we’ve had people knock on their door to ask them to stop, they don’t answer. I hear they’ve had issues with other buildings/tenants in the area. Please get in touch if this has affected you also, I’d like to put a document together with anyone else that would like this to stop.

Posting for a reade: “We found a wallet belonging to a young woman on the front steps of our church- Holy Rosary- today. Due to some very sensitive materials inside the wallet, we’d like to find the owner as soon as possible. There is no contact information for this person other than several photo IDs without addresses. The wallet’s owner is (first name starts with M) Morales Ayana. The owner would be identifiable by matching the IDs to the person. We think that time may be of the essence on this find. She can come to the parish office to pick the wallet up or she can call us at 206-937-1488 ext 209.”

The last time this came up, like ten years ago or so, the Girl Scouts of Western Washington confirmed that there should be no tipping at all, including tip jars, and that they would remind local troops of this. So maybe people have forgotten and continue with tipflation, or maybe some policy has changed.

I was asked if I wanted my change. Same idea different/ better phrasing. I can understand the ask, maybe they could get some direction from the adults when it’s larger than a few dollars.
I’d rather tip the Girl Scouts than have the machine shoved in my face at Starbucks with the employee holding on to it staring at me. Ridiculous.

It’s the moms who are encouraging this!

I was shocked when I, too, bought two boxes with a $20 bill, and when the girls asked one mom to help with figuring out change the mom looked at me and said, “Oh, it’s okay – she’s donating the rest!” which made the two kids so excited.

    Um NO.

I said that I had been a brownie and a girl scout and we had to keep our cookie sales separate from donations, which adults asked adults for only. It was disappointing to the girls, so I said, “Here, I will show you something important – let’s count the change back. It helped with my math skills when I was your age.” The girls were fine with that!

The mom said, “No, they don’t have the change.”

“Okay, I’ll use the card option.”

“No, you started with cash, so you have to stick with cash.”

Both moms were really upset and the girls were getting embarrassed.

So, I whipped out an unexpected request:

“Okay – I will buy two boxes of cookies here and if you can tell me where there’s a Trans-supported Girl Scout Booth like Troop 43130 in Tacoma, I will go to them in person and donate the rest to them.”.

The one mom immediately returned my money.

I left, came back a few minutes later with $20 in singles, bought THREE boxes ($18) from the girls, and got two dollars back in coins, not bills, from the girls’ moms.

These moms are SO RUDE. My niece said the same thing happened to her! She didn’t buy any after that and said she won’t until the trend stops.

I don’t want these or other girl scouts to suffer this, so I am keeping the location anonymous for now.

Yesterday I approached the girl scout cookie booth outside Trader Joe’s and asked for one box of cookies ($6) and handed them a $20 bill. The girl replied to me “I can keep the change?” I was a little taken aback, asking for a $14 tip. I assumed maybe she was young enough to not fully understand how much money that was, and that it was a bit rude to assume she could keep the change without it being offered. I happened to mention this on my Facebook feed about the experience, and a friend said she had the same exact experience at Safeway (don’t know which one). Is this something they’re teaching the girl scouts now? Frankly, it’s off-putting.

Sounds like something you need to be discussing with the police if you’re being threatened and/or having your property vandalized. Anybody doing something like this isn’t going to care about your rant, and it’s certainly not going to help protect you.

Now has gone as far as to pop the tires on the mobile home. Had just spent the past day and a half previous packing up everything and tying it all down to get ready to move making sure all the garbage was picked up so that it would be clean and finally got moved like I was supposed to and thought finally that I could relax and get some sleep. Apparently not because now we have to find new tires which doesn’t make sense because if you want a scone then why would you disable the vehicle sounds really dumb. Really I’ve done nothing to these people where do I go from here I fear for my cat it’s really stressful

Lost / left my fave hat at Jack Block Park. Did you find a brownish straw-style, wide-brimmed hat (in new condition) at the viewpoint at Jack Block Park? Been looking for it and just realized that’s where I left it – under the bench out there. If so, I would be ever so grateful to get it back. Thanks!

I can NOT stress this enough. Do NOT call GW. Their prices are exorbitant, the service is sub quality – the worksmanship has gotten abyssmal. They have a penchant for using service calls to upsell you product, and then (lucky you) apply the cost of the service call to the new (often unneeded) product…. GW used to be a terrific company – but that is no longer the case.

Brennan is a good company – but I know they upsell too. As well as have eternal lead times. My money is on the other thing T-Rex says. Call PSE, they may have some rebates or other promotions that could get you service earlier. FWIW, I like Alpine Specialties, they are former Accurate Heating (of White Center) My experience with them has been quick turnaround, multiple options given with no upsell or pressure.
