Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate:
• Is independent, reliable, disciplined, highly organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize and work with little guidance
• Has several years of accounts payable experience
• May work flexible hours while still meeting daily, weekly and monthly established deadlines
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Is excited to participate in a team-oriented environment while working remotely
• Has experience with Dropbox, Word, and Outlook. eBillity timetracker and Yearli 1099 software experience a plus. Excellent Excel skills and experience with Quickbooks required.
• Is able to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines

melissa, good on you for “notifying” the three potential parties that this guy might be connected to. The possibility that someone close to him in one of those ways might see this, might hopefully earn him a well-deserved butt chewing that may impact him in some manner that the same from a stranger might not.

As a “Professional Pedestrian”, I definitely understand the urge to want to confront the driver, as even being a very defensive pedestrian, it’s still pretty scary to walk along a public sidewalk, or cross legally at a crosswalk, and worry about such things as cars flying out of (or into) parking lots, or blasting into a crosswalk on a red light because they just *have* to make that precious right turn on red.

As tempting as it is, I have to resist reacting in any manner more than maybe a stare/glare, and “Whoa! WTF?!” body language, as I’m rather defenseless should the driver decide to angrily react to my confrontation. I literally am unable to run anymore. Although I could do some damage with my cane, but I would probably be the one to get into trouble. >.<

seems like this guy is a danger to himself, the kids in the car and pedestrians. And are you serious about the potential damage to the car from body oils? Body oils? A man in a Mercedes sedan with three small children in the back zoomed down Trenton to Fauntleroy this morning. I, walking my two dogs, was already crossing Trenton and was perturbed that this guy decided that his morning rush was more important than yielding to a pedestrian already in the intersection, so I rapped his trunk with my knuckles. At this point, he threw the car into park, leapt out, and yelled, “Don’t f&^%ing touch my property, you c*&t!” And he said several other things to me, all sprinkled liberally with obscenities. He’s white, in his 30s or 40s, a little heavyset, and wearing a True Religion jersey and jeans.
1. If you are the other parent of these small children, I thought you might want to be aware of this.
2. If this is a carpool and one or more of these are your children, I thought you might want to be aware of this.
3. If you know this guy, please remind him that knuckles can’t damage cars, that he should yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk, and that he’s setting a terrible example for his kids.

Another unfortunate angle you might check… It’s happened to my friend as well as myself. Check very carefully at all the places power can be “picked off’. I had a neighbor 150 feet away running a heavy gauge extension cord to his shop with compressors and welders while I was away. He knew that I travelled for a living. I put locked covers on the outlets. Funny… my bills came back down to normal. He’s always been uneasy to make “neighborly talk” for him after that. :-/

Slightly nuanced point: I’m trying to say “don’t mess with the national anthem”, not “here’s how you should present yourselves”. The difference is hard to convey, especially in this format, and would certainly affect how the message is received.

it’s more about everyone having some skin in the game. While I appreciate rent probably incorporates some measure for property taxes, I still think it would be good for everyone to have a clear sense of participating in state government revenue generation other than through sales tax. To the degree property taxes and sales tax might be lowered to account for income tax revenue, that would be good, particularly for those at the low income level.

I would favor a progressive income tax beginning at 1% for anyone whose income is above whatever the poverty level is at the time.

Trust. I believe you can trust government in direct proportion to how engaged the electorate is.

I think the tension here is because when you are instructing others how they should protest when they are wronged, you are either denying that they are being wronged or taking a position of authority over them. I hope you can see that both cause issues. I think it serves much better if we sit back and listen before being outraged.

I don’t know you at all. I only know you by your posts here and the reverse applies. I don’t understand what you’re trying to get across here. would you prefer if I say that everything that Kaepernick has done, relative to his mode of protest is legal, as is flag burning? Fine. It’s all legal. Your dispute about it not being the appropriate venue is also flawed as you are stating your personal opinion with nothing to support it. Besides, you don’t have to be impressed by it.

And, my favorite, telling me to “piss off”. Way to bolster your credibility. Clearly I offended you but did you alter your perspective as to the comment in question? Did you perceive how it could be interpreted in a manner that is contrary to your intent? I don’t know about that. What you did do was lash out at me. I’m not afraid, not addressing what I said only indicts you, not me. I can say, that as a white male (a common and favorite phrase these days), I’ve certainly been accused of saying racist things. My intent wasn’t racist but the interpretation on the other side was in disagreement. I’ve learned to consider not only my audience but how what I say and especially write will be interpreted. Will the intent be misconstrued? My whole point was that, when you do your proofreading perhaps you should also change your perspective. – Basic responsibilities: Helping everyone get out the door! Work alongside parents to: wake up and dress children, prepare breakfast, make lunches, pack backpacks, gather after school activity gear, tidy up kitchen and kids’ rooms as needed. Help oldest get out the door to the bus, walk or drive kindergartener to school (about two blocks), drive preschooler to school in Sodo 1-2 times per week
– Additional responsibilities: Help fold and put away kids’ clothes or run occasional errand (optional), date night coverage every other week (we can discuss details if you might be interested)
– Typical hours (we can flex if needed): M/T/F (6:30-7:45), W/Th (6:30-8:30)
– Need a reliable vehicle and be willing to transport up to three children (one car seat, one booster)

DOUG BALDWIN: Of course. That’s what we saw happen is the debate was not about racial injustice or things going on in our communities that pertain to law enforcement. It became about the national anthem and about disrespecting the military, which, as Colin stated a number of times and as we’ve all stated numerous times it’s not about that. It’s about getting the message across that things in our community that are going to need to change.
