I do find it entraining when someones party holds control in an iron fist yet says that they’re the ones being treated unfairly.

I also love watching bitter exchanges on message boards. I’ve engaged in many, right here. I’ve used facts from credible sources, such as the CBO, CDC, NIH and various others that would be considered credible only to have them ignored or to hear that they are biased. Well, facts are not biased, that’s the beauty of them. They can be twisted and incorrectly interpreted but that doesn’t alter that they are facts.

No one is changing anyones minds, here. But I’ll lay a fact on you, right here. Clinton left behind a $250bn budget surplus and had a viable plan, supported by the CBO and other tax/econmics think tanks (numbers wise, anyway) to pay off the national debt in 20 years. Bush came in and spent it “refund” checks to tax payers, and proceeded to drill holes in the budget immediately. He also expanded the debt immensely. Obama started to make whole in the deficit he was left. Trump immediately created a $1tr hole. This trend goes back pretty far. Who is really the party of fiscal responsibility?

Dear 935….ANTIFA? HAHAHAHAHA…do you honestly think we’re from down on the farm? WTF? I am 71, and I have heard of much more than that. Don’t be so damned condescending as to think you only know about these things. And don’t generalize…one protesting senior citizen(As is their right) does not equal every senior citizen that exists.(Are you sure you weren’t speaking of your dear president at one of his rallies? No comment about that?) More than that, now at the the ripe age of 71, life being as short as I have finally found out, I am simply saying that you’re so full of it, your chin is turning brown. Maybe someone needs to slap you silly, too. There, I, too, condoned violence. But you took your football and ran away when no one agreed with you, poor thing. You really have some serious personal negative feelings towards JoB, don’t you?)

    yes, thank you aa….

dear trex…are you honestly saying that dr. Ford connived to deny Mr.Kavanaugh a Supreme Ct. judgeship 6 years ago during Obama’s term as president, when she told her doc about it? Her husband? Are you effing serious? Sorry it took this long to respond…have been incarcerated at Swedish Cardiac Interventional Unit for 2 months….sigh.

you really think women are this conniving?

your “to the victor go the spoils” remark pretty much says it all…
Those aren’t the principles upon which this nation was founded
in fact. those are the principles this nation was founded to avoid.

you really ought to read those documents your bandy about as though you know what they mean.

I missed this somehow “to the victor go the spoils”

that’s the root of the problem. You see the Supreme Court as “spoils”.
I see the Supreme Court as part of the checks and balances in our government
there are no checks and balances when the Supreme court is viewed as political spoils

I would like to share some facts about toddlers from the scientific studies and research that have been done so far, breaking it down into categories such as; Educational, Cognitive, and Social areas of development. Toddlers show strong connections between rhythm skills and pre-reading abilities in toddlers (Educational). Music enhances the toddler’s fine motor skills, or the ability to use small, acute muscle movements to write, use a computer, and perform other physical tasks (Cognitive). Infants recognize the melody of a song long before they understand the words. They often try to mimic sounds and start moving to the music as soon as they are physically able. Toddlers love to dance and move to music. The key to toddler music is the repetition of songs which encourages the use of words and memorization. Silly songs make them laugh. Try singing a familiar song and inserting a silly word in the place of the correct word, like “Mary had a little spider” instead of lamb. Let them reproduce rhythms by clapping or tapping objects.

And as children do, they grow up to be teens. Students who take music in middle school score significantly higher on algebra assignments in 9th grade than their non-music counterparts (Cognitive). Dinorah Marquez, Program Director of the Latino Arts Strings Program says, “Our school has created a culture that considers the music education part of our programming, as a real partner in the full development and academic achievement for our students.” One teenager is quoted as saying, “Music is my life. It’s a safe haven.” Considering the stresses of today’s modern world and the increasing rates of violence and suicide in children, I feel music education is a possible solution for some in aiding them deal with their modern challenges. In the past, secondary students who participated in a music group at school reported the lowest lifetime and current use of all substances (tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs). Most likely, keeping oneself challenged and fulfilled in healthy ways will stem straying towards destructive behaviors in general, in my humble opinion. I teach music privately to the West Seattle area and reach me at michaeldevore88@hotmail.com.

Job – Have you heard of the group ANTIFA? There’s a group right here in Seattle.

One of their recent events…marching in Portland.. had angry young people screaming at elderly citizens and calling them hateful names… Creating gridlock and other nefarious activities.

That moral high ground you think you are standing on..That’s what your “moral high ground” represents and facilitates.

We can do this ALL day every day and get nowhere, which is why (THIS time) I truly plan on hanging up the keyboard…RE this topic…. The FREE Garbage thread will live on!

Just the other day a neighbor was telling me about issues she is having with school buses pulling out of 104th from AHE onto 35th. Two weeks in a row, a particular driver has run up over the curb hitting her garbage cans, then dragged the cans several blocks. The sidewalk project has contributed to the problem; there have been multiple accidents/sideswipes/vehicles running up over the curbs as the street has been narrowed to a dangerous degree. If Metro is having trouble finding good drivers, I can’t imagine that First Student is doing any better. I would think that your insurance company would demand to see the video that FS is using as “evidence”.

Is it decorated/lit? (I can’t go look right now, unfortunately, and can’t quite tell from the 42nd/Alaska webcam.)

Glad to hear that you are considering this option.

I agree with Eddie that using the crosswalk at Spokane St/East Marginal to head north is the right choice.

My preferred route once coming off the Elliot Bay trail on King street is to hang a left of Alaska Way, right on Yesler, left on James, left to 2nd Ave bike lane.

If you let folks on hear know what time you plan on riding, I’m sure someone would offer to ride with you on their way. You could also reach out to West Seattle Bike Connections to get in touch with folks who would offer to do the route with you.

Your disdain for some of the American population is distressing. You and J242 would like to “slap nonsense” out of their mouths. And now you stoop to calling almost 63 million Americans “idiots”.

This is the basis of the American political landscape. And it is sad. There is no longer any common ground. It all goes to a base hatred of conflicting ideals. I will hang up the keyboard now, I wish you all the best and I’m hopeful that you (again, not necessarily Job – the universal you) might be able to let go of the hate you have and listen and enjoin in respectful conversation about moving this great nation forward together. As Americans.

you might ask yourself.. why that particular supreme court judge?
i can probably answer that.. because he had paid his political not judicial dues and because a Yale alum.. George Bush.. campaigned for him in the background.

you might ask yourself.. why now? Because once having settled on Kavanaugh there wasn’t time to get another justice seated before the midterms.

So.. they doubled down on a troublesome candidate who might not have seen the last of his troubles yet. He has been charged with ethics violations in his last federal judgeship.

will he be cleared of those charges? That remains to be seen. If he is not cleared of those charges, can he still keep his seat on the Supreme Court? That remains to be seen too. Either way he is currently sitting on the Supreme Court.

Would i have had problems with any candidate the Federalist Society put forward. Of course.. and everyone on the short list that Kavanaugh was added to at the last minute was in fact put there by the federalist society.

Would every candidate have faced ethics violations? Probably not.

You see, i refuse to believe that every frat boy in the 80s behaved the way the Truth and Courage club .. otherwise known as the “tit and clit” club.. did. I refuse to believe that every frat boy in America boasted about their behavior in their yearbook.

I refuse to believe that every frat boy in America who was a member of such a club and boasted about their youthful exploits wouldn’t have stood before the committee and apologized for the excesses of their youth.. excesses both they and their best friend documented…

evading giving a truthful answer to direct questions made in that context is lying… and you know that.

What else did he lie about? there are long lists but unless the other 98% of his records are released those lies will be difficult to prove.. won’t they.

This supreme court nomination and the circus that has followed was shameful.

As for whether he is my president or not… sorry.. he may be the President of the United States but i wanted nothing to do with him long before idiots allowed him to be elected… and his behavior as President hasn’t changed my mind.

Again, incorrect. Justice Neil Gorsuch sits in the seat that President Obama wanted to name Merrick Garland to. Justice Kavanaugh is sitting in retired Justice Kennedy’s seat.

That aside, please see my first posting about a sitting lame duck president and the games that Congress plays. It is known colloquially as The “McConnell rule” but before now it was known as the “Biden rule”. It’s not a legitimate rule per se, but basically it states that a president shouldn’t appoint a supreme court nominee during the year leading up to an election year. It’s ridiculous and petty but it stands to reason, to the victor go the spoils.

I guess we’ll see if RBG stays on and whether or not the president will be offered a third seat to fill. 2:30pm 10/11/2018

My ex-husband was runover by a First Student school bus. He was waiting at a stop light and the bus turned left right over him. he realized she wasn’t stopping as he saw the tire rolling towards him and he injured himself getting out of the car. After dragging the car some feet, she stopped. After the cop arrived and took down their information, the driver wanted to finish her route. The cop looked at her and told her, “uh, no, we’ve called the child’s parents and you will not be driving this child home.” While they admitted fault to the accident, they denied his injury claim.

Hello all, I decided to write something on the blog to address a disturbing fact. I was parked in my truck sitting in the drivers seat on S.W. Belvedere ave on Oct 1st in the afternoon around 3:30-4pm cannot remember the exact time but Police report will show. Anyhow a First Student bus heads southbound on Belevedere ave and clips my truck mirror off and breaks it off. I’m surprised and stunned and then I start my truck and try to chase down the bus with lights flashing and horn honking I get about 5-8 blocks chasing this bus down and it keeps going so I take a photo of the back of the bus to identify it later with my camera phone and call the police who come out and make a report. after this I decide to call First Student cause at this point I’m wondering what kind of a crazy driver of students have they employed and to let them know they are going to have to pay for the damage their bus did to my truck. I talk to the “safety Supervisor” she says she will investigate and I ask her why the driver did not stop she cited that this is their policy to not stop citing safety to students etc… I say ok and wait. Then a few days later an insurance agent from out of state representing First Student calls and tells me to get estimates I send him an email back with info and the bodyshop sends him the photos of the damage etc.
fast forward to the 10/10/18 the insurance adjuster calls me and says that First Student has a video of them not hitting my truck mirror… I’m stunned and say are you kidding me? Did the supposed video show my truck chasing down the bus after you tore open my mirror and following the bus to get the driver to stop? First Student says the video didn’t have the footage of my truck at all.. at this point I’m being gamed the damages to the truck are less than 500.00 and it will cost me more in time than to deal with it thus I will fix it myself at this point but the real alarm in my head is that a driver like this hitting parked cars and trucks etc down a residential street in Admiral is frightening to me as I think of the kids on the bus and their safety. I guess they are trying to game me but I want everyone to know that if that is who is driving your kids around to school I would be super worried. My daughter is grown up but if she were to be riding on those First Student buses I would be way more vocal. Funny thing is I live just a couple blocks away in Admiral neighborhood and for me to stop pull over park and check a phone message that close to my home is a fluke and I get hit by the bus? Yikes… My deductible is more than the damage incurred so I guess that is my loss from the games First Student is playing here but I want to make sure parents of all the students know what type of outfit and drivers are transporting their children. Hit and Run is a crime and with children in the bus I am shocked and upset. Another note to prior conversation I had with the First Student Safety supervisor. She told me they are instructed not to stop and the insurance adjuster who is assigned to all First Student claims tells me that they should have stopped and the policy is if they hit someone or are in an accident that they are to stop. Hmmm sounds like the Safety Supervisor told me a lie? Mark M

Well since my original post of over 2 hours ago hasn’t shown up, I will write another, as I don’t like the way I came off in the 1st. Copy and pasted here: Note changes in bold

x3 glossing over the culpability of the minority party. Your The credibility of the argument you make is shot. Your The unwillingness to cite any sources related to “lies” told says enough. I do think you are correct when you say “We will see what the people have to say then…” However, I’m afraid that it will not be what you’ll want to hear.

As for said mid terms – well….any news site will tell you the donations are pouring into BOTH sides. Pretty shameful all around.

As for your second to final paragraph – regardless. Donald J. Trump is the President of all Americans – however odious to you and many that may be.

HMCRich got it right when they said “No matter who was appointed there was going to be a battle put up by the Anti-Trump forces”. What is wrong with just being honest with the process? YOU (not necessarily Job – but the universal) can’t stand the president. You can’t stand the congress, you can’t stand the process. Therefore anyone presented to it, you can’t stand. It is simple reason. Be honest with yourself and your argument. If it is truly lies and corruption you are concerned with, let’s bring up Hillary again, and her husband Bill and the shameful things they did and covered for. DOCUMENTED FACTS they deny being a part of. No…No no. This is not about truth and fact. This is about hurting the President, his administration and to wit – the country.
