Evergreen Ensemble opens Season 4 with Joby Talbot’s Path of Miracles, a landmark work inspired by the Camino de Santiago, the ancient pilgrimage route across northern Spain. Written for unaccompanied choir, the piece follows the journey toward Santiago de Compostela through music of striking rhythmic energy, luminous harmony, and moments of deep stillness.

The Camino has long drawn pilgrims into motion, carrying questions, griefs, hopes, and longings across the landscape. In Path of Miracles, that physical journey becomes a spiritual one. The road is not simply a route to a destination, but a place of transformation, where the traveler walks close to the earth and is changed by the rhythm of the journey itself.
