wswllicon3.pngHoliday merriment, of course, continues to gear up — free turkeys, wreath-making, the Log House Museum‘s annual gala — but this edition of the West Seattle Weekend Lineup has eclectic offerings too: Seattle Free School brings a timely class to West Seattle (Stocks 101); the Point of Order Parliamentary Law Unit welcomes you to its monthly gathering; Chief Sealth and West Seattle High Schools both have theater productions; that’s all among 38 West Seattle and WS-linked events on our handy list ahead:

FRIDAY AFTERNOON: Free guided hike in the West Duwamish Greenbelt, presented/led by the Nature Consortium: We will explore the hidden treasures of this amazing natural wonder, and hear about the history and the future of the forest from Nancy Whitlock, Executive Director of the Nature Consortium (and forest expert) Difficulty: mild. Dress for the weather, and wear appropriate footwear (some parts of the trail are muddy) Extreme rain cancels. Be ready for inspiration! Meet at the Trailhead at 14th and Holly, 1 pm. This is a great time to practice your skills and tricks while experiencing a roller-rink atmosphere. You can always look forward to the Limbo, and friendly racing. FRIDAY NIGHT: Second-to-last night for this production: West Seattle High School Drama Club proudly presents: The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, by John Bishop – “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” is an ingenious and wildly comic romp (although not actually a musical!) which enjoyed a long, critically hailed run both on and off-Broadway. Poking antic fun at the more ridiculous aspects of “show biz” and the corny thrillers of Hollywood’s heyday, the play is a non-stop barrage of laughter as those assembled (or at least who aren’t killed off) untangle the mystery of the Stage Door Slasher. Rated a very mild PG. 7:30 pm: Tickets $5 with reservations; call 206-252-8834; tickets $10 at the door
