WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: Thief takes church’s plants

A member of Peace Lutheran Church at 39th SW/SW Thistle in Gatewood sends this report/request:

Someone “borrowed” 2 planters full of bee- and hummingbird-friendly plants from our patio. We’d just like them returned. No questions asked.

We’re following up to see what kind of planters these were, in case you find them abandoned somewhere. But first, the message is for the thief/thieves.

    That’s bad karma.

Do you have a photo of the potted plants so readers can see what is missing?

I asked and the person who reported this said they’d get us a photo of the two similar planters that weren’t taken. Have not received that photo yet. We walked by the church patio at midday but there were several different types of planters and no hint at which the pilfered planters resembled. – TR

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!

my question is less about the content but more about how did they get the different font! didn’t realize we had options when posting here :)

Yikes!  So much for the loving and forgiving god myth.  Thieves are despicable and sometimes they are even respectable-seeming neighbors, but plant thieves are an extra level of slimy and disturbed.

I can’t tell if you’re serious. But if you are, I want to live in your world if plant thieves are the worst of the worst.

It sucks that the planters were stolen and I hope they’re returned.

Don’t assume that because it sounds like scripture it is. The quote “And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy” is a paraphrased line from the movie Pulp Fiction.

Sorry, comment time is over.
