The two suspects arrested in the Puget Ridge stabbing attack on a teenage girl one week ago are now both charged. The 17-year-old girl is charged as an adult with first-degree assault, so we are publishing her name, Aleighna R. Herzog. The charging documents say she lives in Arlington. The 15-year-old boy is charged as a juvenile, also with first-degree assault. The documents say the two were friends with the 17-year-old victim, and had stayed with her at her grandparents’ house – where the attack took place – but weren’t allowed to stay over this time, so they accused the victim of mistreating them, and then started stabbing her. According to the documents, she had 14 stab wounds, six to her face, leaving her with injuries including “significant nerve damage.” Prosecutors asked that Herzog’s bail be set at $750,000; the 15-year-old boy remains in secure detention, and his status will be considered again at the arraignment hearing on Monday.
