Again this weekend, the Highway 99 closure has ended earlier than scheduled. As you can see in the “live” traffic camera above, NB 99 is now fully reopened after completion of another round of work relate to the Viaduct-to-tunnel transition.
The C-Line just took the alternate route NB up 4th Ave. Maybe headquarters forgot to keep them posted
Last weekend too, the info lagged a while. SDOT has tweeted about the reopening (about 20 minutes before I noticed it by checking the camera) but WSDOT as of this moment hasn’t updated its website or sent a media alert (last week they did the latter several hours after the early reopening) …
Wait until the viaduct goes down and we’re stuck with the tunnel that will carry less traffic.
