WEST SEATTLE SCENE: Sign of the times?

We all know development is happening at a fast pace. And in some cases, it’s a bit repetitive – in the 5200 block of California SW, four side-by-side parcels are proposed for nine townhouses each. And we just noticed one parcel has this sign:

(Our favorite reaction on Twitter, where we shared this a little bit earlier: “When templates attack!”)

Why am I not surprised. I feel as though I should be outraged, but there are so many things to be outraged over I’m just at a loss.

I agree. I was troubled in 2007. I thought it was bad then.

    Love the “When templates attack!”

As a lover of foolishness and all its iterations, I love this. Maybe they ran out of down and dirty yet inaccurate names, like the Foundry or the Lofts, and this ho-hum building will henceforth be known as “Brief Description of Project Here.” I know that’s what I’ll always call it.

Too funny! Spent 10 years making sure text was correct on DCLU/DPD land use “large signs” AFTER experiencing somewhat similar embarrassment. Oops.

At first glance, I thought the issue was 9 units but only 7 parking spots. That ought to make for some friendly neighborly relationships…

Parking IS the issue. Truly carless people don’t exist. Everyone moving here DOES own a car, or rent’s one regularly. People also have friends and family that visit. Does anyone really believe they don’t arrive by car?.

Remember if you do not want a piece of property developed you can buy it
