9:59 PM: The West Seattle High School girls have won again. In a district-tournament basketball game at the Chief Sealth International High School gym, the Wildcats beat Bishop Blanchet, 55-45. Photos and more to come.

PHOTOS ADDED 12:42 AM: Though Blanchet got out to a fast start, WSHS regrouped after a timeout.

From there on out, the Wildcats’ defense kept Blanchet to the outside.

Junior Lexi Ioane led WSHS scoring with 20:

Senior Emily Fiso followed with 12, and then came Metro League MVP Lydia Giomi (below) – in her second game back after fighting the flu – with 8:

Blanchet made a comeback bid, pulling within 6 in the fourth quarter, but rebounding and steals by the Wildcats kept them up for the win.

(Senior Annalisa Ursino, fourth-leading scorer on the night with 7)
WSHS’s next game is 6:30 pm Thursday vs. Juanita at Bellevue College.
