West Seattle traffic alert: Westbound Spokane St. Viaduct to reopen 4:30 pm

SDOT says the work that was to close the westbound Spokane Street Viaduct for the entire weekend is finishing sooner than expected and they should have the SSV open around 4:30 pm. The ramp from northbound I-5 will reopen first; the ramp from southbound I-5 second; then the Columbian Way ramp from Beacon Hill.

Yikes. Sorry to hear that. They have opened in the past, early, and NOT announced it … so I would not have thought they’d announce it if it wasn’t a sure thing … TR

What a nightmare it was having this section closed. I was stuck for over an hour last night in sodo brining my 2 yr old home from the ER. Literally our commute home was longer than the ER trip – with lab tests! Hope they don’t have to close this section again.

Sorry, comment time is over.
