West Seattle Whale Watch: Orcas back in West Seattle waters

Just heard from Donna Sandstrom of The Whale Trail that orcas are visible off Me-Kwa-Mooks, looking toward the Vashon ferry terminal. More as we get it!

Saw them off Alki point then watched them swim head toward ferries. Saw 4 spouts, then 3 surfaced through binoculars. Amazing!

Well, TV choppers don’t work on weekends (unless they are prescheduled for something like Seafair) so it’s not them …

Thanks for getting the word out, Tracy! It was a group of 8 transients, heading south in a hurry. Be on the lookout tomorrow!

A reminder to send whale sightings to Orca Network too – because of sightings we received earlier in the day, we were able to get the word out to folks further south in Puget Sound and off West Seattle that the orcas were heading their way!

Sorry, comment time is over.
