West Seattle Weather Watch: Maybe, possibly, weekend snow

This might be completely ruled out by the time we get to midweek – or not – but just in case you haven’t heard, there’s a bit of a chance of snow next weekend. Here’s how famous forecaster/analyst Cliff Mass breaks it down; here’s the National Weather Service’s “forecast discussion.”

Don’t get my hopes up!!! I would be so happy to see one last bit of snow before spring gets here! Even if it is just for a few hours.

Hey patrick the weather man, Snow this weekend?

  • Patrick February 21, 2012 (12:57 pm)

    @ D1

Hard to say right now, the upper level pattern is very marginal at best and would only support VERY wet snowflakes mixing in with the rain below 500 feet, but the models are all over the place right now and to go with any one solution right now as it stands is not something I am comfortable with.

I will say however that as of right now I would suspect snow levels will be pegged in the 500-1000 foot range for Friday night through Monday morning.

Details will become clearer as we approach the weekend.

People who refuse to go to work because of a dusting of snow don’t deserve to be employed.

Sorry, comment time is over.
