West Seattle Crime Watch: Wood thieves/vandals hit Slices on Alki

Take a close look at the fence in front of Slices on Alki – on the left side of the photo, it’s newer than on the right. That’s because the left side is a newly installed replacement for what vandals/thieves tore down and took on Friday night. We heard about it when one of Slices’ proprietors posted in the WSB Forums to ask if anyone saw it happen or knows who did it; he speculated the stolen fencing might have been used for beach firewood. He says the thief/vandals took one of their wood tables, too. Slices just marked its first anniversary a week ago.

That is a really crappy thing to do! I can’t imagine what else someone would want it for unless they were really Jonesing for a fence of their own! Sad what people will do with no regard for others. Hope someone saw the little theive(s) and reports them. They should have to build the replacement fence and have the money come out of their own pocket(s).

how dumb. Speaking of, I saw that Potter Construction had one of their windows broken out the other day, about the same location that they had a flat screen tv showing their work. Anything on that one?

Sorry Slices, you guys make some good pizza and I’m from New Jersey so that is saying something!

As for the anniversary, I recall they have been there since at least 2007 so how is it their 1 year anniversary?

I believe a year since these proprietors took it over. The 1-year note is directly from their FB page – TR

We LOVE slices – especially the people who work there! Vandals suck. I hope they get caught.

I live nearby and have had various wooden things stolen from my yard: fence parts a couple of times, a wooden mail box, sections of a wood pile. I use a LOT of nails when I put up a fence to discourage vandals. I am still living by the beach after 33 years, so “On the whole I’d rather stay at Alki”

I’m sure it’s been mentioned that it was probably used as firewood, but I’ll mention it again. ;)

Let’s think positively and hope someone needed wood on one of our cold nights to stay alive!…Lol, that even cracks me up.

I took his photo as he took my photo (and the photo of the fence).

Sorry, comment time is over.
