Crime Watch reader report with a happy ending

This one’s from South Park, but that area is handled by West Seattle-based police from the Southwest Precinct, so we thought you might be interested:

From RS in South Park:

Mon 8/11/08 a group of kids broke into our house, middle of the day, on the 700 block of S. Director St, South Park 98108. (map) They got away with Computers, TV, cash/change, checks, financial papers, sports memorabilia and some jewelry. Another person spotted the thieves loading the stolen items into an apartment on Cloverdale a short time later and called the police. The police caught the 5 perps, and learned that they had robbed our house. Detective Nick Bauer was assigned to the case, and (yesterday) with his help (two days after the b & e!!), we got our computers and tv back…the rest of the stuff will be forthcoming.

Big round of applause and thanks to Detective Bauer and the other officers for their professionalism and rapid recovery of our stolen goods.

A big thank you to Det. Bauer – he is definitely one of the good guys! Thank you for your hard work for our community. And good job to the neighborhood “look outs”, be aware people, be aware.

Great job! I cannot stress enough, keep tabs on your area, get to know your neighbors, and call on anything you think is wrong! Also, remember to lock up your house, don’t leave things in your car that look “appealing”. Lastly, watch your bags and handbags when shopping. Daily I see people with their handbag wide open and unattended in shopping carts.

Ha — thought by the headline this was a story about a massage parlor.

Maybe Det. Bauer should get a raise!
