Keeping with the Valentine’s theme: News about a Darling

matthewandtracy.jpgWhen former Skylark manager Matthew Darling left that North Delridge hotspot, we asked him to let us know where he wound up next. This week, he and friend Tracy Dart (both pictured at left) are launching a new events/PR firm called The West Seattle Scene; they’ve got an event happening tonight, in fact, and it’s not too late to get in on it, Matthew says:

The Valentines Day Bitter Hearts Junction Bar Crawl

Thursday Feb 14th 2008

All are welcome…singles…couples…group scenes (eww)!

We’re gonna crawl up and down the Alaska junction hitting all the bars we can. There will be a set crawl map available at the first bar, and many of the bars will offer a drink special to help us celebrate.

The ultra cool west seattle tattoo logo t-shirt will be available!!!

Please rsvp to westseattlescene@gmail.com
You will be sent a confirmation email with all the details and disclaimers!

westseattletee.jpgThat’s also the address where you can find out more about Matthew and Tracy’s new company … as well as the “ultra-cool West Seattle tattoo logo T-shirt” he mentions – logo shown at right. (And of course, as we’ve already said a dozen times today, the West Seattle Art Walk is happening in The Junction tonight as well … should be a wild night.)

So does this serve also as the warning that around the junction there will be drunk and emotional people out and about?
    Buckle your seat belts!

So sad to know Matthew is not at Skylark anymore. . He always made me laugh/smile. Aside from the new West Seattle Scene…is there anywhere else I can find Matthew? I want to throw some more tips his way -he is WORTHY.

Someone asked us that when we mentioned him in this post:

At the time, at least, he said he was bartending on the weekends at Stellar Pizza in Georgetown.

Crawl was a blast. A good time was had by all.

Yeah, Mathew is still pulling weekend duty down at Stellar Pizza. I haven’t made it over there yet but plan on saying hi this weekend.

Anyone know why Matthew left Skylark? No more karaoke either? That just seems wrong. Hope the new business goes well, though.

Wow, fun times! I could definately do that again. I hope the next event is on a weekend, tho… I was still pretty tipsy showing up to work this morning! Great job, Matthew! I hope to collect many West Seattle Scene shirts in the future. ;)

  • Mickymse February 15, 2008 (2:57 pm)

Ditto on the wicked cute! ;-)

Matthew might be a squirrel, he might be an otter (ask him), but he is not one to cause anything but joy for our fair neighborhood! We wish him well in his new venture, and for those WSiders willing to brave Georgetown, Stellar’s has a 4 cheese pizza that would put Talerico’s out of business!

We had a great time on Thursday! Thanks to all who came out and did the crawl with us! Extra Special thanks to all the cool waitstaff and bartenders that made the night even better.
