My daughter has been waiting all summer for the ice cream truck to come through our neighborhood (near Schmitz Park). Has anyone heard or seen any yet this summer?

Yep, we’ve had a few in my neighborhood. I know I’ve seen two in the last week come down my street, and have heard others. I’m in Fairmount Park, west of 35th, north of Morgan, east of California. Several kids on our block, but also two of us women are pretty pregnant (and another one was until she gave birth last week), so I like to think they come here as much for us as for the kids. (I’ve yet to chase after one, but it’s crossed my mind!)

I live on 26th in N. Delridge and just heard one 10 minutes ago. Hopefully, one will pass through your area soon. We have them at least once a day.

We just had one a few minutes ago on Barton/34th. He was going awfully fast though!

There’s always at least one ice cream truck roaming High Point as there are lots of kids in my neighborhood. Didn’t hear one tonight though.

There’s 2 or 3 that roam High Point. One is a white van that comes daily between 5pm and 7pm, he appears to have a partner tan van they came at the same time and both parked across from my house on a Saturday. They play “When the Saints Go Marching.” Looks like he also sells candy and chips too. The other is a green box/delivery truck that plays “Do your ears hang low” he comes every few days and later than the van. He drives very fast and often hops the curbs at the traffic circles. A little concerning considering how many children flock to both trucks. Either way, there’s about one or two dozen kids in a one block radius of me so I can practically set my watch to them!

Oh my goodness, if you want ice cream trucks, come to Roxhill park. There is always one there. In fact, while walking my dog a few days ago, I idly pondered getting a treat from the one in the parking lot, but decided to hold out for the coconut chocolate chip I had at home. As I rounded the corner heading away from the park, I saw the truck leaving out of the corner of my eye. Before I made it ten more steps, another truck came rolling down the street, hit the music, and turned into the park. Roxhill must be a good place for business!
