argilesParticipantI have a son who will be 9 in Feb. He has asked if he could invite 4-5 friends to do something. I have no idea of places that I would even start with. I am a single mom and currently unemployed, so something that’s not gonna be outrageously priced. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

charlabobParticipantFull Tilt has great kid birthday parties — (for kids of all ages!) White Center and a couple of other locations. Justin is a frequent contributor here — and the ice cream and other treats, including Ms Pac Man and pin ball machines, are to die for.

SomeGuyParticipantHow about West Seattle Bowl? Looks like cheapest birthday package would be ~$120 for one hour, two lanes, shoes, pizza, sodas, etc. Details here:
http://www.westseattlebowl.com/event/kid-s-bday-package
Alternatively, during open bowl lanes are $19/hour plus shoes. Bowling and then pizza and cake at home?
Hope this helps! Welcome to West Seattle and Happy New Year!

kmweinerMemberA trip to the Seattle Science center is a real treat. Don’t know cost but I have a coupon for one extra. You could bring a cake and have it there.

IrukandjiParticipant$6 per kid for bouncing at an open bounce time at KidzBounce. Renting rooms gets pricey, but for an outing it’s GREAT and affordable. Or take them skating. Even without a ‘party package’ it’s good group fun.

ToddinWestwoodMemberThe birthday Open Kids Gym at the W.S. YMCA is always a hit with kids that age. We had 2 of our daughter’s birthdays there. They do all the set-up and clean up too!

SomeGuyParticipantThe skating idea is awesome, my son and I went to the skating rink and had a blast (he’s 7). They can get inline skates and they play 106.1 music. Here’s the link to the party section on their website and it’s a reasonable price compared to all the other stuff.

tanyar23ParticipantIt’s not in West Seattle, but my daughter loves to go rollerskating at Bellevue Skate King.

argilesParticipantAlso thank you so much for all the suggestions, I really appreciate it. This is his first birthday away from our family in IL so I am hoping that whatever we do it can be special.

celeste17ParticipantIf its not to cold out you could do camp long. Maybe rent a cabin for the night. Do they still have the climbing rock there? Maybe a trail hike with a park ranger.
