Make a Difference in One Hour! – Tutors Needed to Inspire Struggling Young Readers at Sanislo Elementary School and Beverly Park Elementary!
Do you have one hour a week to make a difference in a child’s life? Volunteer or intern as a literacy tutor with Reading Partners!
Our program collaborates with local elementary schools to train community volunteers to provide one-on-one support and mentoring for struggling student readers. Tutors are paired to work with the same student for at least one semester, for one weekly 45-minute tutoring session.
No previous experience is necessary! Tutors are provided with a structured, easy-to-follow curriculum to work with, and a staff Site Coordinator is present at all times for ongoing support and guidance.
Reading Partners is a nationwide program and we currently work with Beverly Park Elementary (Highline) and Sanislo Elementary (West Seattle). Volunteers tutor Monday through Thursday, between 9 AM – 3:45PM (hours may vary slightly from center to center).
