There are many wonderful schools and teachers in the Seattle School system. I mentioned the one above for those who may be interested in, (and able to afford) other options As for the man above, I find his rudeness and vitriol abhorrent. Darth Orange has given people like him the green light to speak to people with disrespect and ignorance. I feel sorry for him and anyone who is in his environment.

If you look up Tuesday’s comments on other topics, you’ll see that he has a tendency to rant (and to use apostrophes incorrectly). While I can respect his extremely conservative views, I think he could benefit from a little anger management. From what I’ve read, Taproot does incorporate learning about our planet – both scientifically in the classroom and through outdoor exploration and discovery. On this Earth Day, and considering the anti-science, pro-polluter acts of the president, this is particularly relevant.
Sure, Taproot may not be a good choice for everyone (plus you have to consider tuition costs of private schools), but Seattle’s public schools aren’t exactly a wonderful option.

i think the bigger problem is that people aren’t talking with their neighbors much…
perhaps your next fire would be a good opportunity to invite them over

my first thought is…a neighbor who, at this time of year , has a fire in her fireplace on cool, chilly mornings. And yes, we can smell it all over the neighborhood. I actually like the smell, and I will not begrudge her a little smoky fire so she can be warm. It’s not 24-7, just a couple of hours…no big deal.

Oh, and Anonyme? Drunk ass? The guy said there was no alcohol…you are ASSuming too much, or maybe it’s just YOUR neighbors…

Wes…the guy in the apartment downstairs likes to cook with charcoal in the summertime on his grill, just below my deck…the chicken smells wonderful…wish he’d invite me. What I do mind, though, is neighbors who stand outside and smoke, and it wafts in my window…now that I can’t stand (we are a non-smoking building). We all have our burden to bear, it seems…

Just a reminder – Job post’ers are supposed to include their direct contact information. I was just flagged to this by someone who wanted to apply but was not seeing contact information for the job. I will be contacting the OP – they need to post at least an e-mail address; applicants are NOT supposed to have to post THEIR contact info here. If you see a post that does not have contact info for the hiring party, please let us know so we can get that fixed – editor@westseattleblog.com – Tracy @ WSB

Anonyme…how do you know I was just not “wagging” my finger at the repeat offender here as you all call him or her?
AND again this post started out about Mr. Mayor’s mole and has turned into a grudge match on what each party thinks is right. I’m not going either way on this because it is America and I can believe in what I believe in but to think you (not saying you) are always RIGHT is self-centered and egotistical!

My partner I were on California, just north of Easy Street. We heard what I thought at first was a stuck gas pedal coming down California only to see this dark silver metallic Honda Fit come screaming by on the wrong side of the street. He slowed briefly approaching the scramble at Alaska but then gassed it through again at full throttle. It happed so fast, everybody was a bit stunned. The light at the scramble was red for cars & the only thing I could think about was pedestrians in the intersection. Nobody got hit but it could have been a horrific scene. We called 911 but apparently they had received numerous calls by this time. We just looked around to see everyone looking at each other trying to digest what we saw. My guess is either a stolen 2nd generation Honda Fit with dark metallic silver paint or “just” someone on crack (White Male w/ darker hair, mid-thirties). Terrifying…

P.S. There was a SPD cruiser parked on the SW corner. An officer came sauntering out 20 minutes later, just looking around, taking in the sunshine after a nice cup of coffee or something…

Tuesday: Your comments are simply tiresome sarcasm. I strongly suggest you try authenticity. Simplify your comments to your actual thoughts on the subject and hold off on those wild fantastical descriptions of liberals. Save it for the right wing bubble. This should be a place for thoughtful, well-reasoned discussion.

The craftsman work actually looks pretty good, my main concern is the ugly roof and how the addition doesn’t blend in with the rest of the building, both color wise and material wise.

I guess I shouldn’t have said it looks like a bunch of middle schoolers did it because it looks nicer than that, but it does stick out like a sore thumb.

Either way, a couple of their delicious cocktails and I forget all about it :)

Now, now children if you can’t play nice you all need to go to your rooms. Or listen to your Parents…if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say (post) anything at all!

And I like how this started out as some body’s Scrotal mole (UGH!!!) and now it’s turned into a grudge match.

I have been and space, service & food are much higher quality than Angelina’s. I never had 1 good food experience at Angelina’s though. It still is working out the kinks as it’s brand new, but I think it will do well once they fix a few dishes and kitchen timing.

Just checked with the contractor putting in a deck and porch for us and she said it’s best to use a company that specializes in fences because they get prices on materials that are hard to beat.

I like to go to Lollipop’s in Burien. It’s a bit more of a drive but has been worth it for us. A bonus is that you get money immediately for any items they take rather than waiting for it to sell.

Have eaten there. Its a lovely space. Food is not bad, but they are obviously still working out the kinks with some menu items. Staff are lovely though.

Not sure why its taking them so long to sort out their website and get info/hours posted on common search tools (google, yelp etc). Hopefully that will happen soon.

OMG ! BirdNutt met some Wacky parents at a Protest march and that is the determining factor for a childs future ? Turning them into a little angry Kshama Sawant ? Jesus !

A school for ” Social Action” ? What the Hell is that anyway ? Please give your kids a chance at a reality based , open minded education and let them make up their own minds on who they want to be.

If you send them to the ” Wackroot ” activist academy for the angrly Insane you will lose them forever and they will be living in your basement until they are 45 making protest signs, delivering Pot ( part time of course ) waiting for all of their ” Free Stuff ” from Bernie

Look into Alki, Lafayette, Hope Lutheran, Holy Rosary, They are all great school’s with a healthy dose of Liberal nuttiness but they get somewhat of a variety of opinions. Somewhat. But, Please… for your kids sake and our future as a society don’t send them to the ” WackRoot” school for the Non-binarily Insane.

    Good Luck !
