Interrupted a theft/burglary at 5233 42 ave this morning at 0420.
Hear rustling behind the garage, though it was raccoons in the garbage. Went to run them off and a white, slim, male wearing a yellowish t shirt came around the corner of the garage towards me and grabbed one of my security lights. I told him to stop, he dropped it and ran. Second security light stolen recently. Lawn mower stolen last week. Graffiti rampant in the alley between California and 42nd ave sw. North of Brandon.
I contacted John L Scott for permission to paint over the graffiti but they said they didn’t own the building and would get back to me. Never did.

I’ve been riding this bus for about 3 months, it’s ridiculously crowded now. I unfortunately get on this bus @ 35th and Avalong, and lately it’s been just passing by due to it being full.
The bus used to empty out on 3rd and Seneca and be left with a few Amazon stragglers going to SLU. Now the bus is still full when it reaches SLU… did a new company open a office past this stop?
Hopefully they increase the frequency, one every 10 minutes during rush hour is not enough..

Do you have Fibromyalgia?
There are a large number of people who have Fibromyalgia, a type of chronic pain that also includes fatigue and other bodily symptoms. There is currently no cure for Fibromyalgia and available treatments provide only modest benefits. The University of Washington’s Fibromyalgia Research Program is seeking participants for a study supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This is a randomized study that involves a combination of different behavioral health and drug treatments with placebo controls. The project is attempting to evaluate different treatment combinations for people with Fibromyalgia, to see which ones work best and for whom.
Participation in the study will require 13 visits spaced over approximately 4 months with a follow-up visit 6 months after treatment has been completed. All visits will take place in the University District Building, 1107 Northeast 45th Street, Seattle, WA 98105. The building is conveniently located on several bus routes. Parking is available on request. Eligible participants will receive a comprehensive medical evaluation and a combination of pharmacological and behavioral health treatments. To participate in this study, individuals need to have received a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia by a health professional, currently have a primary healthcare provider, and be able to speak and understand verbal and written English. There are several additional eligibility requirements that can be discussed on the telephone with project staff if you are or someone you know is interested in learning more.
Participants may be paid up to $300 upon completion of the study. We are looking for an assistant front office manager to help organize and coordinate administration duties with the expectation of developing into the lead role in the next few years. Your role is to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication and safety.
Responsibilities include learning how to organize digital client files, prepare digital contracts (via Docusign), organize office operations and procedures, control correspondence and mail, review and approve supply requisitions, greet visitors and provide general administrative support to our employees. The role will also entail assisting with daily bookkeeping and payroll preparation with the intent of performing these processes in the future.
Previous experience as a front office manager or office administrator would be an advantage. A successful front office manager should also have experience with a variety of office software (email tools, spreadsheets and databases) and be able to accurately handle administrative duties. Ultimately, the assistant front office manager should be able to ensure the smooth running of the office and help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operation.

As part of a landscaping project, I am currently thinning my patch of what I believe to be Olympic berries, a hybrid berry developed on Vashon Island. (Google to see recent Seattle Times article on same.) First cane was given to me over 25 years ago by a then-elderly former West Seattle neighbor (now deceased), who told me it was an “Olympic berry.” Note – these are very thorny canes, and will run along ground if not given support.
Also digging up many ornamental plants that will prolifically self-sow if not dead-headed, but are nonetheless pretty. If you have garden space to fill, or an area to naturalize, you may like these self-sowing wildflower types. I have rose campion, foxgloves, linaria (toadflax), Shasta daisies, malva, linaria (toadflax), feverfew, etc.
