UPDATE: More ‘snow whales’ in view from West Seattle

2:19 PM: The snow has stopped – for now – and there’s word of whales. Kersti Muul says transient orcas are southbound, passing through north Elliott Bay, close to the city side of the channel. Let us know if you see them!

2:35 PM: Kersti says the whales have gone into the bay.

Wow! Love the term “predation event!”  Here’s to many, many more! Long live our apex predators!

I just saw them at 3:22pm. I’m over across the burger joint on Alki. An awesome man named Kyle even let me use his high-speed binoculars to get a really close look. Amazing! Shout out for posting this.

3:48 I’m watching with binoculars from across the way in Queen Anne. It looks like there’s 3 or 4 of them!?

I have question for Kersti – do the Transient Orcas ever intermingle with the Southern Orcas?

Sorry, comment time is over.
