7:27 PM: Avoid 26th/Roxbury for a while. A crash response is blocking most lanes; a motorcycle rider is seriously hurt and being taken to Harborview. We are told the rider and a car driver collided.
8:05 PM: SDOT says the scene is cleared. We’re following up with SFD regarding the injured rider.
WEDNESDAY MORNING: SFD says the rider, a 43-year-old man, was in critical condition when taken to the hospital.
What about the other motorcycle accident at nearly the same time? 99 and Cloverdale
Heard the dispatch; they said no other vehicle was involved, at least in the preliminary assessment. (But I’m also asking SFD about that rider.)
Thanks WSB for keeping us posted even this far south in West Seattle! That’s a busy intersection, still trying to decide if the recent changes help (or if more dangerous). Prayers to all involved.

As added above, SFD tells us the rider was in critical condition. I have no way to know if he survived without having a name to ask Harborview about but will ask KCSO – both they and SPD were at the scene and it appeared to have happened on the county side of the street. Regarding the Cloverdale crash, SFD says that rider was in serious condition when transported. – TR
I heard the crash from my house and witnessed the aftermath. Three men were assisting the rider, whom I later learned was named Tommy through his friend. One of the men was the driver of the Tesla involved in the collision with Tommy, and the other two were bystanders from the bus stop. They attempted to lift Tommy to safety amidst the ongoing traffic. Note: If you witness an accident, please avoid driving close to the scene. I approached the group to advise against moving Tommy; despite his broken leg, further injury could result from improper handling. A detective was present at the scene, and the authorities subsequently impounded the Tesla driver’s car along with the bike. The Tesla driver’s visibly distressed demeanor when interacting with the police suggested the gravity of the accident. Fortunately, Tommy’s friend was there to secure his phone and personal items.
Thanks for the update. KCSO couldn’t tell me anything further when I checked yesterday, not even whether the rider had survived, so all I can do is watch the Medical Examiner’s daily list and hope he doesn’t end up there.
I want to say thank you for everybody’s care and concern and support I just gain consciousness two days ago. I’m currently paralyzed from the waist down. I have a broken spine in three places and broken my leg into into places with promising. I’m determined again on if I can get it one point in my life some point in my life, just give me a lot of work and a lot of time from now
