TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Post-storm Tuesday

(Live view from the only WS Bridge camera currently in operation; see other cameras on the WSB Traffic page)
No rain this morning – though more is on the way later today – so the morning commute might not be so bad. Please let us know if you encounter any holdover standing-water trouble spots – and thank you for the many updates and photos shared during yesterday’s storminess (text or voice, 206-293-6302 any time, or all the other ways listed here).

Bicycle/car collision at Avalon and Yancy.

Thanks. Apparently no serious injury since the fire call is already closed and no medic unit was dispatched (private ambulance may have been, but if serious, the city transfers). – TR

Trouble free bus commute today. Sorry to hear about the bicyclist/car collision. Always scary to hear about.

There’s still a mini-lake on Orchard just below the AM/PM west of Delridge. Had to cross the yellow line to avoid it, can’t really tell how deep it is.

Fauntleroy/Alaska C line about 8:25a packed to the doors, immediately followed by one with plenty of room. Mixed feeling about this; grateful for the extra bus, must suck to be on that packed one.

I think our roads are too poorly maintained for Metro to have committed to having most RR passengers stand for their rides.
I don’t believe it is a safe way to operate.
There is a big difference between standing for the ride on a subway or light rail and a lurching bus with a wet floor.

Got to Fautleroy and Myrtle at 7:42 am. The 116X came right on time. The driver was courteous and friendly and it was great to be on our comfy little bus. Took the 43 to UW and then the 8 back to Queen Anne. Drivers courteous and helpful to passengers who were infirm or needed directions. Then got on RR C at Queen Anne. Driver in his own little world. Couldn’t be bothered to use the kneeler. It must be the size of the RR that makes them so impersonal.

Sorry, comment time is over.
