Just received from the White Center Food Bank, which serves part of West Seattle too:

Volunteers Needed ASAP!

We are currently in need of volunteers that are available for daytime distribution hours including Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am until 1 pm. Duties include: set-up of the distribution line and assisting clients with food selections. Groups and individuals are welcome. Here’s an idea, how about the people who use the system volunteer. Should be plenty of them available! It’s only 3 hours 3 days a week.

they do have clients volunteer–when I volunteered last year there were clients on the line..but also a majority of the people coming in for food the two days I were there were employed–lots of people in their fast food uniforms, one person worked for target. People with minimum wage jobs that can’t afford rent and food
