We introduced you last Saturday to the Westside Wildcats junior-football team (shown above during a recent practice at Madison Middle School); they play at home again today, with games all day starting at 9 am at West Seattle Stadium, so if the weather kept you from going out and cheering for them last Saturday, check ’em out today. Other highlights this weekend include the Thrill-O Pillowfest family overnight TONIGHT at Hiawatha, the Sunrise Heights Neighborhood Association dance, the SSCC Plant Sale, another Blessing of the Animals –. all part of the 41 West Seattle events on our handy list ahead (sponsored by Skylark Club and Cafe, with free live music six nights a week):

FRIDAY AFTERNOON: Through 4 pm (and again 9 am-3 pm Saturday), Tibbetts United Methodist Church is having its Fall Rummage Sale. This twice-yearly event has been going on for several decades now and has a reputation for a wide variety of clothing of all sizes, household goods, books, furniture, etc. Tibbetts is located at 3940 41st Avenue SW; go to tibbettsumchurch.org for directions

FRIDAY NIGHT: Family skating at Alki Community Center: “This weekly event at Alki Community Center is suitable for all ages and all abilities! This is a great time to practice your skills and tricks while experiencing a roller-rink atmosphere. You can always look forward to the Limbo, and friendly racing. If you don’t have your own skates, you can borrow a pair of ours!” 6:45-8:45 pm ($3/person)

FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING: Thrill-o Pillow Family Overnight Shindig, 7 pm to 7 am, Hiawatha Community Center. Families will enjoy 12 hours of pure fun! Participants will be on guard with anticipation of random pillow fights all night! Stay up all night with activities ranging from movies, nerf dodge ball, karaoke, dancing and more! Fee includes dinner, snack and breakfast. Please bring sleeping gear. Activity fee of $5.00 per person ages 6 yrs and up. (Preregistration was requested; call to check if space left)

Where to meet: Corner of Delridge Way SW and SW Graham. Across the street from the temporary home of Chief Sealth High School. What to bring: Leather gloves, leather or heavy boots, long-sleeve shirts and pants to protect yourself from thorny blackberry! Also, be sure to bring water and a snack!
