Parking alert: Sidewalk work set to start tomorrow

sidewalkalert.jpg

Noticed these signs along the west side of California SW just north of Morgan Junction – between Graham and Raymond (map). The “no parking” warning kicks in tomorrow and the project is described on the signs as “sidewalk restoration.” (There’s also a stack of “businesses open during construction” signs ready to go, too.)

All well and good, I suppose. But when will the stretch of California south of the Alaska Junction be repaved? I thought it was supposed to be repaved in the subsequent year after the section north of the AJ was done. It’s like driving the old rutted dirt road to my grand pappy’s farm! (An apt description of most of Seattle’s streets.)

Maybe when the hizzhonor’s limo needs drive south of resturaunt row in the AJ from home base something will happen like new gold plated drive from Admiral to Alaska. It’s a friggin’ mine field down here!

Parking alert? What about pedestrian alert? I’m assuming the sidewalk will be closed as well? Not everyone drives, you know?

Looks like there will be a brand new sidewalk put in between 39th and Walnut on north side of Forest from the looks of all the spray paint on the road – woo hoo – much needed improvement!

Sorry, comment time is over.
