West Seattle gets mooned

Thank you so much to the WSB-land photographers who have just sent us photos of tonight’s amazing full moon, the biggest of the year. Seacrest seems to be the hotspot — first, that’s where Dawson took this shot:

Next, three photos by Christopher Boffoli, starting with another Seacrest view of downtown and Elliott Bay:

This one, Christopher notes, carries the actual color temperature of the moon as seen from The Junction around quarter past six tonight:

Bonus photo — moonless, but gorgeous view of Rainier, Salty’s, and the Water Taxi:

Thanks to the WSB and other great photogs who show us some of the beautiful shots us point and shooters can’t catch!!!!!

Beautiful shot. It could be a post card shot. What’s funny is that you notice the new Wamu tower sticking up right in the picture now. Seattle’s “non-stop” ever growing skyline.

Cleat, my photo was captured with a point and shoot Nikon. Definitely felt inadequate to some of the folks down there with their “pro” cameras.

Cleat and Dawson: I suspect that if you felt the weight of my Canon EOS 1D-Mark III with a 400mm IS USM telephoto lens you’d be more than happy to stick with your point-and-shoot.

Thank you so much for capturing this glorious moon. I left work in Bellevue about 7 p.m. last night (25th) and was so mesmerized by the sight that I couldn’t keep my eyes on the road and was lucky not to have been rear-ended. Your shot of the city skyline with the moon is, like a previous writer said, picture-postcard perfect!

Sorry, comment time is over.
