Speaking of affordable housing

Which we have been, extensively … Here’s an ad for a single-family home in WS, less than $300K — with a furnace that runs on biodiesel, even! Open house this weekend but you gotta wonder if it’ll last that long. (And here’s one even cheaper.)

umm a ONE BEDROOM for 300K….affordable? for who?

We bought our small house for 200K 4 years ago….there is no way we could have afforded a 300K house and that is with both of us working!

I know it’s all perspective/location etc, But come on, since salaries have not kept up, 300K NOT affordable for most young working families.

If I lived that close to Tacos Guaymas I would turn into an actual taco.

I personally like the second one with the townhouses in the backyard. Creepy you’d have to have your blinds closed all the time.

18 homes listed on Yahoo Real Estate in WS for $300,000 or less. There is one on there that is a 2/2 at 900 sq. ft ($274,000). If you search you can find plenty of “starter homes” for under $300,000 especially if you go with a fixer.

I don’t think it’ll last long. That second listing is already subject to inspection.

Be interesting to see if there is a bidding war.

There’s a place in my ‘hood (decent, but a fixer upper) listed just under 300K. It has literally been CRAWLING with prospective buyers.

Sorry, comment time is over.
