Restaurant tidbits

-The Cactus Restaurant webpage for under-construction Alki has mentioned only “August 2006” as its opening date. So now that August is half over, will that really happen? Just got e-mail from an Alki reader who said she called one of the other Cactus locations to ask and was told they’re “shooting for” August 28.

-Something’s in the works at the former Cat’s Eye Cafe just north of Lincoln Park. Construction permits are posted in its windows; the online info describes the work only as “rewire/remodel studio.”

Things seem to have really ground to a halt at the future restaurant site where Nielsen Florist used to be… I wonder what happened. Or didn’t happen.

I drove by last night and it looked like some of the butcher paper was off the florist window and things were going on inside

Hey…. hubby & I PLAN on being at Cactus on Tues the 29th IF it really opens on the 28th, we will celebrate our 4th anniversary (Aug 31st) before heading to Cannon Beach for Labor Day weekend :) We had our 1st date and Anniv at The Point (what is NOW Coyotes on Alki), then we started going to Christo’s on Alki which is now merged with family and has become Christo’s Pizza Pasta & Spirits, but still on Alki…. we love them…but we are excited to try Cactus too. If anyone goes into Christo’s please tell Pistol Pete (bartendar), Momma, Papa, Wiliam (Server) & Johnny (Sat, Sun AM) “HELLO” from Shell & Shane!! :)

Nielson Building work is held up until City of Seattle okays permit for steel structural work and improved electrical work. Two separate building issues.
