West Seattle Crime Watch: ‘I loved that car’
February 20, 2012 at 2:02 pm | In Crime, West Seattle news | 9 CommentsOut of the WSB inbox, a stolen-car report from Ken:
I live at 4800 Fauntleroy [multi-unit building], and my car was stolen this weekend. Silver 1993 Nissan Sentra with 250k+ miles, stolen from my assigned parking space between 9:00pm Saturday (2/18) and 3:00pm Sunday (2/19).
I’m a broke student and I loved that car. I would find a way to reward somebody for info about the car and/or who took it.
As Seattle Police request when they tweet about stolen cars (including this one), call 911 if you have seen it.

License plate #, any identifying stickers, dents, etc?
Comment by KD — 4:18 pm February 20, 2012 #
KD – though Ken didn’t send the plate, it’s in the SPD “Get Your Car Back” tweet I link in the story (see the last part) and he confirmed that was indeed the tweet about his car … TR

WA plates: AFE3636
there is a small Ween sticker (Ween is a band) on the back window, in front of the brake light (no words, just their logo)
no major dents. missing driver’s front hub cap.
thanks everybody.

having had a car stolen about a year ago, I am very sympathetic. Hopefully they will find it quickly, and in one piece (I wasn’t so lucky – who knew somebody was coveting ’96 Saturn parts.) – so wishing you lots of luck :)

When my car was stolen police told me that the vast majority of car thefts in Seattle are just about someone wanting to get from point A to point B.
-
The officer said the car would likely show up. And it did. A few days later they found it on Aurora. I hope you get your car back. I’ll keep my eyes open down here in Delridge.

I love the “Get your car back” Tweets. Great idea.

We had our 97 subaru stolen in November -it was found in our neighborhood 2 weeks later a few blocks away. Good luck, I hope it turns up soon and without damage!
Comment by wsparents — 9:45 am February 21, 2012 #
thanks everybody. I have my fingers crossed that the car will be found.
I don’t know what would be worse: never finding the car, or finding it damaged beyond repair…

I have had my car prowled twice in the alley right off california just north of Dakota. One time about two weeks ago and another time in about november.
